  • 1 cup mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 stick butter


  • Mix potatoes, flour, salt & egg.
  • Put on a floured surface.
  • Shape into rolls about 1" in diameter, then cut into small pieces (1/2 - 1").
  • Drop into salted boiling water for 15 minutes. 
  • Drain. 
  • Chop onion and add to butter in frying pan. 
  • Sautee dumplings in butter and onions and serve.
