Swedish Meatballs

  • 1/4 Cup chopped onions
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 Pound hamburger
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Can beef consomme soup
  • 1/4 Cup light cream
  • 3/4 Tsp. salt
  • Dash of pepper


  • Cook onion in butter until tender, not brown.
  • Combine meat and seasonings and beat thoroughly.
  • Mix in flour, then egg and cream.
  • Add onion mixture.
  • Form in 1-inch balls and lightly brown in skillet with small amount of butler, shaking skillet to turn balls.
  • Remove excess fat.
  • Add consomme soup and cook 1 hour.
  • When done remove the meatballs and make gravy from the liquid.
