Ingredients

  • 1 Cup sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Cup milk
  • 2 Cups flour
  • 2 Tsp. baking powder
  • 2 Cups fruit
  • 2 Cups boiling water or juice
  • 1 Cup sugar

Instructions

  • Combine sugar, butter, egg, milk, flour, and baking powder.
  • Pour in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  • Mix together fruit, boiling water and sugar.
  • Pour over first layer.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
  • Rhubarb is a delicious fruit to use but any kind of fruit is good.
