Broccoli And Onion Casserole

Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. frozen broccoli
  • 1 - 16 oz. can small onions
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 cup beef consomme
  • 1/3 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese

Instructions

  • Thaw broccoli; drain onions.
  • Place broccoli in baking dish; arrange onions over broccoli.
  • Melt butter in pan; add flour, salt and pepper.
  • Stir until smooth.
  • Add consomme gradually, stirring constantly until sauce thickens.
  • Pour over onions.
  • Sprinkle top with almonds and cheese.
  • Bake in 350 degrees oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
