Butterscotch Sauce Ice Cream Topping

  • 1 Cup white corn syrup
  • 1 Cup white sugar
  • Pinch of salt (1/4 tsp.)
  • 1 Cup brown sugar
  • 1 Cup water
  • 1/2 Tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 Cup cream or 1 small can evaporated milk


  • Mix corn syrup, while and brown sugars with 1 cup water.
  • Simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Cool to lukewarm.
  • Stir in 1/2 cup cream or 1 small can evaporated milk and add salt and vanilla.
  • Serve hot or cold over ice cream.
  • If you have some left put in a jar and store in ice box.
