Baked Round Steak


Ingredients
- 2 Pounds tenderized 3/4-inch round steak
- 6 Tbsp. flour
- 4 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 16 oz. Can tomato sauce
- 2 large onions (sliced)
- 1 Tsp. each salt and pepper
- 2 ribs celery (1/2-inch slices)
- 2 carrots (1/4-inch slices)
- 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 Cups water
- Hot cooked rice or noodle
Instructions
- Cut meal into 8 pieces.
- Combine flour, salt, and pepper.
- Dredge the meat in flour combination.
- Brown in hot oil.
- Place in deep glass ovenproof disc.
- Layer meat, onions, carrots, celery.
- Mix tomato sauce with soy sauce and water.
- Pour over meat and vegetables.
- Bake uncovered 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350°.
- Serve with hot cooked rice or noodles.
- (NOTE: For crock pot, prepare recipe as above, except layer into crockery cooker. Pour tomato mixture over all. Cover and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours.)
