  • 2 Pounds tenderized 3/4-inch round steak
  • 6 Tbsp. flour
  • 4 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 16 oz. Can tomato sauce
  • 2 large onions (sliced)
  • 1 Tsp. each salt and pepper
  • 2 ribs celery (1/2-inch slices)
  • 2 carrots (1/4-inch slices)
  • 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 Cups water
  • Hot cooked rice or noodle


  • Cut meal into 8 pieces.
  • Combine flour, salt, and pepper.
  • Dredge the meat in flour combination.
  • Brown in hot oil.
  • Place in deep glass ovenproof disc.
  • Layer meat, onions, carrots, celery.
  • Mix tomato sauce with soy sauce and water.
  • Pour over meat and vegetables.
  • Bake uncovered 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350°.
  • Serve with hot cooked rice or noodles.
  • (NOTE: For crock pot, prepare recipe as above, except layer into crockery cooker. Pour tomato mixture over all. Cover and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours.)
