Anise Candy

  • 3 Cups sugar
  • 1 Cup white syrup
  • 1/2 Cup water
  • 1 Tsp. red coloring
  • 1 Tsp. anise extract or a few drops anise oil


  • Boil to hard crack.
  • Add red coloring and anise oil last.
  • Do not stir.
  • Pour in an ungreased pan or cookie sheet.
  • Let harden and break into pieces.
  • Be sure candy has reached the hard crack stage or it will not be brittle enough.
  • When candy is done it will crack when you test it in cold water.
